We must do the business of local government better. That means doing the business of community engagement better.

Community Engagement is the cornerstone of Bobby’s campaign. The system of government is simply not as effective in providing core services unless every citizen has the opportunity to engage. Bobby wants the people of Lowell to feel included in the civic process in a meaningful way, and to bring the citizens closer to local government.

As the “backbone” of our city, we must do all that we can to ensure that our neighborhood stores and restaurants not only survive this pandemic but thrive in the years to come.

In light of the pandemic’s impact on residents and businesses, Bobby will take bold steps to support every individual worker, entrepreneur, small business owner, and midsize company in Lowell. Together, we will help Lowell families attain and maintain quality, affordable housing, build wealth, and leave poverty behind.

Our downtown businesses and neighborhood vitality cannot wait. We need to take action now. It is in our collective interest to support locally owned businesses.

The health and vibrancy of Lowell’s neighborhoods and downtown area is vulnerable. Bobby will work alongside key stakeholders to rejuvenate the backbone of Lowell’s economy.

You do not need more data to prove the fundamental truth that racism is a public health crisis. You do, however, need to care enough to create necessary systemic changes as well as believe black and brown people when we speak out about our unique past and present experiences.

Bobby is a proven champion for diversity, equity, and inclusion in Lowell. Notably, Bobby was instrumental in the city-wide push for the ongoing human resources audit of the City of Lowell, as well as the campaign for the Lowell City Council to declare racism a public health crisis in in the summer of 2020 and for the Lowell Public School human resources audit in 2018. He will advocate for increased diversity, equity, and inclusion across all facets of municipal work, and address barriers for all Lowell residents.

We need to think about a relationship and what that really means and how do we build that within our police department and fire department, within our leaders and our community.

Bobby supports community policing and safe neighborhoods. He will strengthen the relationship between the community and the police and fire departments, engaging all parties as active players in public safety including, but not limited to, local youth violence prevention and gang intervention organizations. This includes ensuring our police department has adequate staffing and funding, diversifying the pipeline of officers to reflect the community, and investing in robust education and training to enhance community relations.

Let’s continue investing in all that makes Lowell a creative hub.

Bobby will elevate the artists, musicians, writers, dancers, actors, poets, makers, gig workers, and members of the creative workforce who call Lowell home. He will pursue ways to boost the city's attraction as a staycation place for residents, and a destination place for Hollywood and independent movie makers and multicultural programming year-round.
