Voter Turnout Matters

Lani Guinier, an American law professor, once said that democracy takes place when the silenced find a voice, and when we begin to listen to what they have to say. To me, voting and getting involved on a local level is one of the purest ways to ensure that your voice is heard and the issues that personally affect you are addressed. Unfortunately, as a city, we consistently suffer from low voter turnout. As your next City Councilor, I will work with my colleagues to pursue a goal of getting no less than 25% of registered voters to show up in 2023. I am confident that we can make this happen. The voters deserve it! My name is Bobby Tugbiyele and I am running for Lowell City Council At-Large and future motions from me will be centered around making local government more accessible, transparent, customer-service friendly and reflective of our growing diversity. Let's bridge Lowell forward together on Tuesday, Nov. 2nd."
